Nick Lascuola of Abington, Mass. started 7th and drove through
the field to win yet another INEX Legends feature event at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway on Friday, putting himself in the cat bird’s seat to take home his first Seekonk Speedway Legends Track Championship. The two-time defending Massachusetts State INEX Legends champion has already earned the championship in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Legends cars earlier this year at Seekonk. “Wow, this was a fun night,” Nick said after it was over. “Our car was just so fast tonight and the INEX Motor was awesome. I owe so much to my family, my team and to everyone who helps me from my sponsors to our fans and all the people who support me because without every last one of them I wouldn’t be in victory lane tonight or ever.” When asked about the pending track championship, Nick was not ready to pop the top off the root beer just yet. “We’ve been through losing a championship we thought we had, so I’m not going to celebrate until I know it’s ours. But again, without everyone who gives so much time, money and effort I wouldn’t have any reason to be talking about a championship so just knowing that we are this close means so much after all this time in Legends Cars.” The 16-year-old’s next start will be this Friday, one again at Seekonk Speedway for their Fast Friday program.
