Seekonk Speedway announced today the addition of the Nick Lascuola Racing (NLR) Summer Showdown as part of the Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27. As part of a full night of mid-week racing at the third-mile, the Pro All Star Series (PASS) stars will battle against Seekonk Speedway Pro Stock regulars in a 150-lap, $10,000 to win main event. As part of the supporting card, one of Seekonk’s Fast Friday divisions will help keep fans engaged all night, along with the return of the PASS Modifieds.
The NLR Summer Showdown will be a non-points event when it comes to the weekly Seekonk schedule — however — it will have big money on the line. The race will pay $1,500 to win for the second straight year courtesy of sponsorship by B&M Maintenance — and will have a total purse inside the top-10 of just over $5,000. The 35-lap special will be part of a major night — as the racing will all be shown live on FloRacing.TV — showcasing the action to a national audience as part of a deal between Seekonk and FloRacing, a growing streaming partner in short-track racing. There will also be a Bonus for the Nicks Pitstop Monster Lap Pole Award and additional $500 awarded into the purse in some awards to be announced later. “Legend Car drivers and teams are so dedicated and committed each and every year. It’s awesome to be able to get them on the big stage, especially with the PASS Series, and have them race for a big purse,” Nick Lascuola, owner of NLR, said. "The last two years, the best races of the year for the Legends Cars have been the big money shows, so it’ll be exciting to watch the drivers duke it out and show off their skills in the spotlight again this year." Nick Lascuola Racing is operated by former Seekonk Speedway Legends Cars and Seekonk Youth Racing Association winner and champion, Nick Lascuola. Based in Massachusetts, they offer setup, maintenance and rental programs to competitors for weekly racing at Seekonk, along with some additional select events in the area. For more information, or to get your ride today, call 508-828-8233. “We’re excited to have this special Legends Cars event and looking forward to hopefully drawing some competitors from out of the area to battle with our local track stars,” Ed St. Germain, Director of Business Development, said. “Our Fast Friday Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars program is one of the top in the region, and we’re proud of it. We are able to showcase both the youth of the track and some veteran drivers who would like to compete in a bit more affordable class. The Legends Cars are a major part of the Seekonk Speedway family, and so is Nick Lascuola Racing — a sponsor of the track for many years and a great partner. This elevates this event even higher." The Bay State Classic -- including the NLR Summer Showdown for the INEX Legends Cars — is just one of three special Wednesday nights event in 2022. On Wednesday, June 29, Modified Madness returns with the Tri Track Tour-Type Modifieds battling for a $10,000 prize. On Wednesday, August 24 — the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites return for the Boston Louie Seymour Memorial Classic — while the New England Supermodified Series — operated by PASS — will also make their debut on that night. Tickets for all Wednesday events — and Fast Friday, NASCAR Saturday and Thrill Show races — are now available at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid the busy lines on race day.
